Participation in the program does not require any form of payment, as the program is fully funded by the Mandel Foundation–Israel. The only investment required of fellows is their time and effort.
What is the size of the stipend provided?
Program fellows will receive a living stipend of NIS 10,000 per month for 12 months. This stipend is intended to enable fellows to devote all their time to their study during the course of the program. Fellows must arrange payment of National Insurance and health insurance payments on their own during their year of study.
Where and when will studies be held?
Studies will be held at the Mandel Center for Leadership in the North, on the campus of the Oranim Academic College of Education. Studies will be held one day a week (Tuesdays).
Are there examinations or grades?
No. There are no examinations in the program, and no grades are given. However, significant effort is necessary in order to complete the various course assignments (e.g., reading, research, individual and group written assignments, verbal presentations, expert consultations, etc.), and fellows are expected to invest in learning from field work. Fellows will also be expected to work on a social initiative – or “personal project” – that they will develop over the course of the program.
Does the program include fellows of both sexes and all ages?
Program fellows include men and women, Jews and Arabs, of all ages. Anyone who meets the program’s minimum requirements is eligible to apply.
