Dr. Asaf Turgeman is a teaching fellow at the school for political science and the department of multidisciplinary studies at the University of Haifa. For several years he was a lecturer of political science and communications at the Yezreel Valley College. Asaf teaches various courses, primarily in political theory, political thought, and Jewish philosophy. His dissertation traced myths from Jewish tradition within Israeli secular discourse. He is currently engaged in research on the conflict between religion and state in Israel with a focus on religious radicalism and the significance and political implications of Chabad messianic mythos. From 2005 through 2010, Asaf coordinated the "Betzavta" (Together) project at the University of Haifa – a project to create secular-religious discourse through Jewish, classical and contemporary texts alike.
